Squirrel question

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by Hitech Redneck, Oct 24, 2006.

  1. I am mounting a fox squirrel, and it has 2 spots where worvels were at. It has a little bit of hair missing around the area. Both of them are on the back. I was going to try to cover it up some by back brushing the hair, but I don't know if it will work. Is there anything else I could do or make it less noticable?

thanks in advance for any advice.

You could cut out the holes by using what people call cutting a "football" shape around the imperfection. Then neatly sew it up. It will make the circumfrence of the skin smaller, but not by much. Form may beed to be shaven down.
Once it's mounted, then backbrush the fur to better hide the repair!
It's what I do to all my deer gameheads and rugs (even works on the small haired zebras!)

  3. thanks Lee

  4. mount it

    mount it My Mount

I am with Lee on this one. I have also in planted hair with super glue applied to the root of the hair. Just make sure it is the same color and length hair. This needs to be done after the mount is dry and groomed. Randall
