replica vs. skin

    when painting a replica bass or a skin mount bass what the difference in the starting of the painting? i've done skin mount wanting to tackle a replica

    Lots of info in the archives. Basically paint the fish a very dark brown color, then steel wool it back off leaving the dark color in the depressions and highlighting the scales. Then tone down the blank using white until you get a base color to start from that is similar to that of a skin mount.
