Doe's anyone know of a really nice way of capping off a tube of caulk after they use some of it, other than a nail or tape over the end, so you can still use it again?

Screw a wire nut onto the tip.

I like the wing nut ideal, I just wrap some masking tape around it.

Use an old spark plug boot, works pretty good.

a friend of mine who does construction caps his with the masking tape, but he lets a little of it squirt out first, then wraps the tape around it and folds over the tip of the tape. Since I've started doing it like that, the tube lasts a lot longer.

Lowes, I think, has a 2 pack of specially designed caps. They plug the whole and have a groove built in to snap on to the plunger rod, so as not to get lost, while you are caulking. They work really well. If you don't see them at Lowes, try Wally World or Home Depot.
