european mount

    whats the best way of doing a european mount...do you guys send them off and have the beetles do the job? all help is appreciated-thanks

    if so do you just skin out the head like you would normally do and send it off? sorry new to this

    Yes, the company that you send it to should give you instructions. Contact them or find their website and make sure you let them know it is coming.

    I just skin it, then i cut most of the meat off the skull. And i remove the eye's, and i learned from here to remove the brains also. get your self a pot with water and bring it to a boil, put some Sal soda in the pot then put the skull in, but do not let any of the antlers be submerged under the water as the Sal soda may dis color the antlers. Use a stick or something to prock the antlers to keep them out of the water. Leave in for 1/2 hour, and the remaining meat should look like jelly, take and run water on it from the sink and use a knife to scrap the meat off it should come off easy. Thats the way i do it, and to get the skull nice and white i use basice white you can get the Sal soda and the basice white from WASCO saplei company.
