Hey all, 20 years ago I used to tan a bit. At that time I did a greasy animal (Badger) and never degreased it. The hide came out OK with respect to the tan, but it never did loose the greasy feel. After so many years I see where I made the mistake. I originally tanned this with Alum.

Can I either degrease, oil and rebreak the hide now or can I start from square one and retan? Also, with a lot of grease in the hair, can it be tumbled out or is there a limit. As Badgers are illegal to kill where I now live, I would like to get this corrected.

    Thanks
