Great looking mount; very intense look in his eyes. Looks like he just saw something that stopped him in his tracks.

DZ, I like the coyote. I like the look on his face, and he is groomed very nicely. I'm sure the customer was pleased! -Marty

This one just went back to the customer thank goodness... when he brought over the cat and the squirrel, he brought a huge tree branch he wanted them mounted on. Boy was it heavy .. and took up a lot of space in the shop!

Amy those are great. I wish I know how you got your bobcats to look so good. About how many have you mounted in the past?

    Holmes,
Thanks .. I'm not sure exactly how many I've done. I got in seven this year, which was a lot for this area. If I were to guess, I've probably done 30 or 40 over the years. It's all in the eyes and ears, with bobcats ... its important to hollow out the ear area on the form and set the ears into the holes. If they're set out too far, even a hair, it wont look right. And with the eyes, as long as you set the upper eyelid to where it atleast touches the top of the pupil, that usually gives a nice, non-scared look to the cat. My cats aren't wildlife-artist cats, but I improve with each one.

And Ralph, the jackrabbit wasn't too hard to do ... the skin was much tougher than a cottontail. The toughest part was the ears. I turned them very carefully, and made earliners out of milk jugs. Bondo would probably work too, but you would probably get a thicker ear without much transparency.

  15. Great mounts Amy. You are really good at those bobcats!
