Anyone have a general guideline when it comes to the amount of sawdust in a 4' x 6' tumbler?? I Have been told that the sawdust in the tubler not only dries the fur/skin as it tumbles it but also acts as a "stretching" material for the brek-in of the leather. I read somewhere awhile back that the quantity (in lbs.) was important to properly stretch the skins and break them in. Thanks for any help.

  2. Mine get 50# of maple. Depending on how they are driven the weight of sawdust and hides may or maynot exceed the limit of your drive system

We use 100 lbs of hardwood sawdust.
