My dad has a rack in his garage and was just wondering what size cape to use. Here are some pics and sizes. The longest tine is 10 1/2" long 17 1/2" inside spread and is a TEN point. We never had it scored it came from Michigan near graying mid 70' is all my dad had for info from his dad. Let me know what you all think of it.

Wow, that's a awesome rack. I really like the heavy, palmated tips. I would suggest trying to match whatever the size of bucks that are taken up in Michigan. I would guess that they're pretty comparable to ours here in WI. I couldn't give you an exact size in inches, but I would say put the biggest cape you can get your hands on. (neck over 20") make sure you put a heavy northern cape on it, though. Nice buck! Make sure and post pics of the finished mount!

    Using McKenzie's "B" measurement, I'd go 19" or bigger.

  4. 21" on the swell.

  5. just wondering why they varnish them antlers like that..........

  6. I'm with John C.. 21" at the swell. First its not the real cape so theres no point wasting huge money on a monster cape. Second a cape with a 21" swell should have a mature adult deer look while accenting the horns IE. larger. Ive noticed it with some deer that Ive done that this was the case. again just my opinion

My grandpa's 8 pointer scored in the 150's and I had a 21" replacement cape. Can't wait to see it!

thats a good sized antler set, go for a cape 21" or better, you could relisticly put almost any cape 20" or bigger and it would look fine just find your cape before you order a form
