  5. Took my oldest son on a moose hunt to NW Manitoba. Fly in hunt. I paid for him to hunt - I just watched. He shot this 41 inch bull on day 4. Quite the adventure. We saw a wolverine too! Making memories!

    Thanks and no I'll stick with 3 bears, it just so happens that when I signed up for taxi.net I had 3 bears laying on my floor waiting to be fleshed, and I need a screen name, "Now you know the rest of the story, good day".

    I killed my biggest mule deer buck this morning. 9X6. Really happy. Dropped a cow elk on opening day, 300 yard pack to the truck. Last Saturday, I killed a mule deer doe in the morning and a whitetail doe in the evening. The freezer is full.

    Opening day mule deer. My field judging is now mainly "How easy will it be to get this out?"
    This deer came out of a ravine with 3 other bucks. He stopped broadside, and I knew there was a two track pretty close to where he was standing. When I took the shot, he proceeded to WALK BACKWARDS (!) to the bottom of the ravine. It wasn't too bad getting him out, though. Dropped a whitetail doe yesterday morning, and called in a nice coyote this morning.

    Caught me by surprise, too. I live in Havre, MT, and there are reports of a grizzly up along the Milk River, NW of town. My coworkers dad reports 2 bears up there a couple days ago near his farmland. That area is one of my whitetail spots when it's dry enough. Thick willows and not where I'd want to meet a bear.
