Howdy, I just finished mounting a mule deer for the first time. Those huge ears posed some problems that I hadn't faced with whitetails. To aid in turning them to the entire edge, I created a tool that worked good for me. Thought I'd share. First I took a regular coat hanger: Then pulled the bottom of it up: And then used a pliers to bend a point in the top to turn the tip of the ear: The tool is used by inserting the wire up into the end of the ear until the tip, and exerting light pressure with the fingertips until the tip of the ear is reached: You can bend the tool to your liking, and it also has a handy hanger handle built into it! Hope this helps!
