got my first hide laying out with jrts soaking now - had no real problems associated with it - one thing that i had never tried was salting and then fleshing afater salt had set overnite- i have got to say that that hide fleshed EASIER THAN ANY OTHER I HAD EVER DONE - i added one step from what george had posted - after fleshing and b4 jrts i risned the salt off of raw hide with a quick dip in water - let dry a little and then applied jrts - will rinse tomorrow - measure and throw in freezer - its waiting for my first student - go get 'em george

you didnt let the hide stay wet after dipping
a wet hide is not a good idea(posting because newbies might be looking)
a towel roll up might be a good idea

btw still praying for your full recovery, God bless
