Photography of the Month (June)

Discussion in 'Wildlife Artwork and Crafts' started by Helicity, Jun 12, 2008.

  1. Becky,

No filter - just my plain Olympus digital camera. I ws driving home from work and happened to have my camera in the car that day. We have an 150+ yearold burr oak growing around a rocky part of the field that can't be farmed. As soon as I saw that, I just had to stop and take a photo.

Bucknut, the color is beautiful ;)

Wolfwoman, I LOVE the eagle. I wish I get get close enough for a pic like that. I've only seen wild ones once and they were too far away for a shot like that, or to even blow up and crop like that. And the ones from the zoo are no good because of the way the pen is set up. It's a double pen so no way to blurr out the wires completely.

  5. Tim,

When I first looked at that photo, I thought that was an interesting cloud formation. Took me a minute to figure out that was a mountain top.

  6. I'm not much of a photographer, but here are two shots I took last September on my AK hunt that I really liked.

Becky, PM me your address and I'll send you a notecard that I've made of one of the eagles similar to that one.

nmtaxi, if you took that picture on the Glenn Highway, I do believe that is Gunsight Mountain, which is less than an hour from me :)

  10. All the photographs in this thread are very gorgeous. I'm glad you all are sharing pics like them. :)

Wolfie...Alaska is so gorgeous. We have an opportunity to move up that way. We'll see. I love seeing the pics, especially of wolves and when you post some up of your dogs. ;D *hinthint*

  11. Wolfie, I envy you. The thought of going back keeps me up at nights. Someday, I will call that area my home.

What a sight! Baby stood up moments before I took this shot.

Hummers and a titmouse. Moments before I took the titmouse pic, he landed on my head. I was sitting in a lawnchair waiting for the hummers to come back when he shows up. Hovers in front of me a sec than lands on my head! Wasn't there too long, maybe 5 seconds or so, then flew up on the windmill where I took a quick pic. I CAN'T believe a wild bird landed on my head!!! LOL
They are a bit grainy (ISO 1600, 300mm plus cropped and enlarged). Gonna try to get some better ones later.
