Will changing email address effect photos?

    Hi Ken,

    I'm aware that the email address can be changed by going to my profile since you answered my original question. I now have a twist to add to that. When an email address is changed will it have an effect on photos already posted with the old address? If so is there a way to change the address and still keep the photos already posted? I plan on stepping up from dial-up since we now have the opportunity to.

    Changing your email should have no affect on any photos you have previously posted. If your photos are hosted elsewhere (such as at photobucket.com), they will still be able to be seen here on the Forum until you move them, delete them, or rename them.

    If you attached photos at the end of your post, they will not be affected by any e-mail change.

    Ken,

    Thanks for answering the question. I'll have to change my address with where they are hosted also, and didn't know if there was a procedure on either end that needed to be followed so the photos would not be lost.

    If you change the URL address where your photos are hosted, you will also have to change the address of the photos in your old posts so they won't show up as red X's. This is ONLY if the URL of the photo will change if your email address changes.

    It might take some effort, but you can go into your old posts and modify the photo addresses to make sure your photos continue to show up after the move.

    If changing your email at the photo hosting site does not change the URL of your photos, you have nothing to worry about.

    The first photo I checked was the latest post with a photo. It had a red box instead of photo. After going back to where the photo is hosted it, popped up by itself. I then checked for one farther back and again the red box. This one I had to put back myself. So unless I go back to all of them I'm not sure if the photos are there or not. If for some reason there is a photo missing and someone wants to see it, let me know and I'll try to hunt it down for you.

    I am caroline and new for this forum. When I saw your question and I thought I must answer that question.
    As I know Changing email address will not effect your photos.

    Caroline, Thanks for the reply, but for some reason I did have a problem. I believe everything is ok now. Some of my older posts are probably missing the photos. I don't believe anyone will notice, but if for some reason someone does, I will try to hunt down the original photo, if I know from what post it is missing.
