Does anyone know the chemicals and process used for tanning fish skins? I am not using it for any type of mounts, just the leather. Ii have read a few sites regarding new processes that are echo friendly and minimize water useage a great deal. They don't explain anything other than what I've just said, must be some big secret!
My long term goal is to learn the process and become a supplier. Ii live in FL. where disposal of chemicals is a big concern, so the more echo friendly the process, the more successful Ii will be

You can tan any fish with the chemicals that are out there. You must remove all the scales, pickle, neturlize, and then tan. As for the best you need to talk with Mark at knobloch's or Bruce Rittel.
