If you have not yet preregistered, you must register at the St. Charles Convention Center when you arrive. The World Shows staff will begin taking registrations in the upper level lobby on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Go to the Convention Center lobby and look for the sign marked "New Registrations."

We have some great new ideas planned for the 2011 World Taxidermy and Fish Carving Championships®. In-depth multi-session "think tank" seminars will be offered on everything from competition to professional shop techniques for both taxidermy and carving. These "think tanks" will feature a panel of top taxidermists and carvers from around the world offering advice and answering your questions.

Pat Morris of England and author of the new book The History of Taxidermy, will be one of the featured seminar speakers with the most comprehensive information on the history of taxidermy you have ever heard.

The world's largest taxidermy and fish carving competitions. At the past World Shows there have been over 750 entries. It's great fun if you enter, but if you don't, just viewing it is an experience you will long remember.

A new, improved score sheet will be introduced and used by 28 experienced and highly recognized judges from around the world. Four international judges will be coming from New Zealand, Sweden, Russia, and the Netherlands. We are expecting this year's competition to be one of the largest we have ever held. This will be the first year for the Fish Challenge, a spinoff of the popular Avian Challenge.

An unbelievable trade show has been organized with the industry's top companies featuring 168 trade show booths. You will be able to see firsthand new products and purchase the newest forms and innovations being offered by these companies. The climax of the event is the 2011 World Show Awards Banquet, where $25,000.00 in cash prizes will be awarded.

At the 2011 World Show you will see the reintroduction of Second in World and Third in World titles with silver and bronze medals for the winners. The always-entertaining awards ceremony will feature the big winners and new World Champions, plus the awarding of over $25,000 in cash. Those competing for the Competitors' Awards alone will be winning $14,000.00!

The Embassy Suites Hotel is the host hotel and is connected to the convention center. Each suite has two rooms with a private bedroom and a separate living room area. This show will be held again at the beautiful St. Charles Convention Center (built in 2005) with an adjoining Embassy Suites Hotel in St. Charles, Missouri. This quaint historic city is on the west side of St. Louis and only 10 minutes from the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. It is also very near the intersection of both Interstate 70 going east and west and Interstate 55 going north and south. This is a very historic area as it is the location of the start of the first Lewis and Clark expedition on the Missouri River that opened the way for westward expansion of the United States. The historic downtown district of St. Charles is a must-see on your visit, as is the famous St. Louis Gateway Arch.
